A startling medical study shows that one third of American has metabolic syndrome. It dramatically increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Metabolic syndrome refers to a set of factors that double the chances of strokes. It may lead to serious diseases such as diabetes, strokes and cardiovascular diseases. It ascends up the risk of diseases up to five percent. Physical inactivity, obesity, low level of HDL and overweight are its primary causes. Hence, Low calorie diet is the only way to get rid of metabolic syndrome.
According to the recent report of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it affects 34 percent of people at some point in their lives. The ratio is equal to approximately 47 million of Americans.
In the recent study, researchers from Alameda Health system analyzed an extensive data. They closely studied data of last five years to determine the rate of metabolic syndrome patients. The end result of the study was much greater than the previous assumptions of health experts. It reveals that 35 percent of American suffered from the syndrome from 2011-2012. In 2003-2004, the ratio was 30 percent from the level in 2003-2004.
Dr. Kim Williams, President of American College of Cardiology, discusses the issue. He states that metabolic will soon become one of the most pervasive epidemics. The study is a warning call for concerned authorities to arrange awareness programs.
