Microsoft is set to launch Windows 10 on 29 July as free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

People who wish t to upgrade their devices can follow the given steps.

Once Windows 10 is released, users will observe “Get windows 10 app” on their devices. The app will appear on the bottom right of the taskbar with an option to reserve. The option will notify users when the Windows will be available for download. Users can also set a specific time for the notification.

The update is expected to finish in 20 minutes on latest devices. However, people with old models have to wait for one hour. Last but not the least; the entire downloading process depends on the speed of your internet.

The biggest tech giant is offering Windows 10 for free. However, Pirated OS users have to purchase Windows 10 from the retailers.

Terry Myerson, vice president of Microsoft operating system development, confirms that it will come free of cost.  It will be “free for the supported the lifetime of your device”.

Device running on Windows 7 Home will get Home edition of Windows 10.  In comparison, Windows 10 will be offered to Windows 7 professional version of users.

However, the firm has not yet revealed launch date of mobile version of Windows 10.
